Nice (Nissa, Nizza)

Nice is located on the south east coast of France, it is the second largest French city in the Mediterranian coast. It is the capital of the Alpes Maritimes departement.

Where "Old Nice" is beggining....

The city's main seaside promenade is called "Promenade des Anglais" (the walkway of the English) which got it's name from the upper English class in the second part of the 18th century, where an incresasing number of aristocratic families spent their winter vacation. Here we can find the world famous "Hotel Negresco", which was build in 1912, and now it is member of the Leading Hotels of the World.

Beginning at "Place Masséna" (which is the main square of the city) there is a shopping street running parallel with the promenade, where tourists can find a fine selection of restaurants, cafés and small shops. This
section of the city is reffered to as a "Zone Pietonne" (pedestrain zone).

In the heart of the old town there is a must seen place, called "Place Rossetti". The place is invaded by the terraces of traditional restaurants and fine ice-cream meakers, and also the "Sainte-Reparate Chatedral" can be found here.

Hotel Negresco

Probably the most traditional square of the town is the "Cours Saleya" with its daily flower market. In the night good restaurants serving typical Nicois cusine. There is no doubt that this is the most active spot in Nice.

Not far form here you can find the "Place du Palais", where as its name indicates, the "Palais de Justice" (Law Courts) is located.

There are many other things to in Nice, just like the "Observatory" on the summit of Mount Gros, the "Acropolis" the "Tête Carrée" (Cube Head), the "Russian Orthodox Cathedral",

de Nice, the "Port of Nice", the "Botanic Garden" many museums ("Museum Massena", "Museum of Natural History", "Naval Museum" and so on) or the "Château", just to mention a few of them.

Nizza a második legnagyobb francia város a Fölközi tenger partján, dél Franciaországban.
A város híres tengerparti sétánya, a "Promenade des Anglais" (az angolok sétánya) nevét a 18-ik század második felében kapta az akkori angol úri osztályról, amikoris hatalmas mennyiségű arisztokrata család töltötte itt a vakációját.
Itt található a világhírű "Negresco Hotel" , ami 1912-ben épült.
Nizza főteréről (Place Masséna) nyílik a város sétálóutcája (párhuzamosan az Angok Sétányával) ahol a tútisták kedvükre válogathatnak a különféle üzletek, kávézók és éttermek között.
Ha már az éttermeknél tartunk, feltétlenül érdemes ellátogatni a Rossetti térre, ami az óváros szívében található, a Sainte-Reparate katedrális-sal.
Talán a legtradicionálisabb szeglete Nizzának a virág piac, a "Cours Saleya", ami éjszaka átalakul vibráló bárokká, éttermekké, ahol tipikus nizzai ételeket fogyaszthat az arra látogató.
Nem kétséges, hogy ez Nizza legaktívabb szeglete.
Nem messze innen található a "Palota tér", az Igazság Palotájával, vagyis a biróság épületével.

Gerbeaud - Zserbó

I'm not a typical "housewife", if the kitchen is concerned. This doesn't mean that I do not like to bake or cook, only that I don't have much experience in it.
However, recently I like to make experiment with the different tastes. Usually I'm not doing this from cookbooks, mostly only relying on my imagination. And what can I say so far, it works. So I decided that occasionally I will publish some photos of "My Creatures".
Here are the first ones. The name of this cake is "Gerbeaud"



Nem vagyok egy kimondott "háziasszony", ami a konyhát illeti. Ez nem azt jelenti, hogy nem szeretek sütni, főzni, mindössze annyit, hogy nincs nagy gyakorlatom.
Újabban azonban szívesen kísérletezgetek az ízekkel.Általában ezt nem szakácskönyvből teszem, többnyire a fantáziámra hagyatkozom. És mit mondjak, eddig ez bejött. Ezért úgy döntöttem, néha-néha közzéteszek egy-egy képet az "alkotásaimból".

Cagnes-sur-Mer is located in southeaster France, in the Provance-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region. It is the largest suburb of Nice, around 15 km far from the city centre.

The town is famous of the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, who spent his retreat here. His estate (Les Collettes)is in Haut-de-Cagnes, surrounded by olive trees.

Cagnes-sur-Mer is also famous of it's horse racing place, the Hippodrome, and the four km long pebble beach.

Long time ago this town was a fisher town, you can still see a little fishing port in Cros-de-Cagnes.

In the old town you can find Grimaldi Castle, which is transformed to a museum at 1946. Every summer, the castle also offers temporary exhibitions as part of an international festival of painting.

Morning tea - Reggeli tea

I love to take my morning tea (or coffee) outside. This photo was made few months ago, when the weather let us enjoy the sunrise in one of the sandy beach of Juan les Pins. Fresh breeze, cool sand, hot tea.... I can't wait for the spring to arrive.   

Szeretem a reggeli teámat (vagy kávémat) a szabadban elfogyasztani. Ez a foto néhány hónappal ezelőtt készült, amikor még az időjárás megengedte, hogy Juan les Pins egyik homokos strandjáról élvezzük a napfelkeltét. Hűs szellő, langyos homok, forró tea....alig várom, hogy itt legyen a tavasz.

St Tropez

St Tropez is one of the most popular tourist paradise among Nice, Cannes and Monaco, in the French Riviera. Originally it was a quiet fishing village, wich attracted many artists. However today it became an overcrowded city, which ambiance is primarily due to the tourists who stroll up and down with hope that sooner or later they can encounter with a celebrity from the word of the cinema.

St Tropez az egyik leginkább kedvelt túrista paradicsom Nizza, Cannes és Monaco mellett a francia riviérán. Eredetileg egy csendes halàszfalu volt, ami idevonzotta a művészeket. Manapság azonban egy túlzsúfolt várossá vált, aminek hangulatát elsősorban a turistáknak köszönheti, akik reménykedve sétálgatnak fel-alá abban a hiszemben, hogy előbb utóbb összetalálkoznak valamely hírességgel a filmvilágból.
